2.8 fast idle ?

Post by Zeroduty »

Has anyone come up with a way to rig a fast idle for winter by using the fast idle set up for the AC? Is this not controlled by an electric solenoid? If so maybe it could be over ridden some how?

might just be the extra load of the ac compressor that bumps the rpm......... not sure

might try to come up with something this week as I am working on my injectors and doing up a glow plug mod

It's a mechanical pump, might be a challenge to do, other than the classic stick......... hmmmmm

Bolted to the side of your intercooler are two vacum switches, one of them controls the A/C fast idle. It was the front one on mine.

So if the switch is disconnected and I run a powered lead to it I should have a manually controlled fast idle. By the way could you pm your phone #, I think that you very likely are from my home town. I think you were on a farm north east of town.

Pm sent.
The location of the vacum switch I gave is on the l400. Sorry I wasn't paying attention. If you follow the vacum line from your IP it should lead you to the right switch.
