Canters for sale?

Post by eddapimp »

Hi, i have a 92 l300 and looove it! But am thinking about getting a Canter with a 2 ton dump and 4x4 as a work truck for my rsidential tree business. Anyone have one of these that could give me feedback as to performance, fuel economy etc. Or know of where i may be able to buy one? Have searched online and have found a numerous vehicles up for auction in Japan from various dealers but was wondering if there are any local for sale that i could go and check out. Thank you for any info

A lot of guys use the Canter/Fuso 4x4 as a base for their 'round the world' expedition motorhomes so they are definately a reliable workhorse. There is a whole section dedicated to them over on Expedition Portal forums where you will likely find all the info and help you need.

While you're checking things out, I ran into a guy the other day here in Vancouver who was using a 2-ton RHD Isuzu Elf dumper in his landscape business and he just raved on and on about the thing.

Tough, compact; the guy claims he works it *really* hard and has only ever had to keep oil and fluids fresh and it has never once let him down. Apparently they come in a 3-Ton version too. I had a quick look over and it looked like a solid little truck. Nice.

Anyways - no personal experience with one, but just another option to consider.

i recently imported a Canter 4x4 dump. they were hard to find. pretty rare to find a 1996 or older canter 4x4 dump in any reasonable condition. it took months to find a good one and then it still cost around $10k just at the auction (including their fees) when i did finally arrive it has taken months to get certain parts. seeing as they are work vehicles, they are all pretty torn up inside.
