Japanese writing
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anybody on here can read Japanese, or if anybody knows of resources to help with that. I'm a bit curious as to some of the labels and badges on my Pajero. I would like to know what this one means:
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Japanese writing
That sign means the vehicle has the "winter package". I think it actually says something along the lines of "This car is especially equipped for cold climates". The crew of Shawn Van Ramen helped me out on this. There is also a list of sticker meanings in Delica FAQs.

Re: Japanese writing
Correct
Winter package will include:
A stronger fuel heater
A stronger starter motor
A stronger alternator
2 batteries
A gas tank door lock
A front windscreen de-icer
Two heaters (this may be standard anyway with independent rear aircon)
Heated mirrors
Heated seats
Oil pressure and voltmeter gauges
Higher suspension

Re: Japanese writing
Good to know, thanks William and Falco! Although, I only have one battery - I suppose that's just because it's a gas engine? Also don't think I have heated mirrors and seats, although I think lots of JDM's had heated mirrors w/o the symbol stamped on the mirrors.

Re: Japanese writing
I've yet to see a Deli in BC with the heated seat and mirror option, and if you have the winter package then you should have dual batteries unless some has changed it to single. Cheers Jay Tardis Deli

Re: Japanese writing
single battery for the gas Paj.
heated mirrors came in both gas/dino versions depending on which model you got. There is no surefire way of telling even by the VIN. It looks to be an optional addon. The harness is in all of them if you wanted to upgrade to them down the road. North American montero's as well.
Our LWB exceed model came with heater mirrors and heated 'cloth' seats whereas the heated seats were usually designated for the leather interior models. Do you have the jump seats (hydraulic suspension on the front seats) ? They are the cat's meow on rough roads.
If you want to do a small suspension lift, the shorty Paj's are the easiest. Source a set of LWB rear coil springs, install them and crank the front torsion bars = instant 2" lift. Montero springs will fit as well (abundance in the US).
If you can't find something here (delica.ca is delica-specific but has a small pajero following) 4x4wire.com has a dedicated canadian Pajero community going over 5 years with every possible mod you can think of for JDM Pajero's. Phil is the man of pajero knowledge on the forums.

Re: Japanese writing
props for the explanation, jfarsang! Regards to the hydraulic seats, I don't think so? I'll have to check when I'm in my Pajero tomorrow :P I also tried feeling the mirrors after running defrost for a while (the ones in our old dodge spirit were quite warm to the touch) but didn't feel anything.
Thanks for the tip about the lift! I have the stock hydraulics system which lifts 3cm all around. However, higher couldn't hurt for snow clearance :D
Yes I have been meaning to join 4x4wire since I got my Pajero.. May do that tomorrow as well!
Cheers,
Chris

Hey Jlevis, Welcome to Delica Canada, jlevis wrote:oh god tough lang i cant help u but i will ask my friends.
Say, your location is stated as "Folsom", which is in California, USA ~ yet your IP address has you in Guntur, which is in Andhra Pradesh, India. Why is that? And what is your interest in Delica Canada?
Falco.
