Trouble finding AIR FILTER for 4d56t Pajero

Post by Artie Fufkin »

Trouble finding AIR FILTER for 4d56t Pajero 92, 2.5L

FYI:

NAPA # 2222 / WIX # 4222 are NO LONGER a valid number for the 4d56t Pajero air filter.

AC Delco # A1050c
Fram # CA4369
Purolator # A43583
Mitsu. # MD603384
K&N # E-2871

Only one that seems available is the K&N and I'm not really a fan.

One supplier told me this filter was obsolete and had no replacement.

Any ideas where I can find em?
Thanks for your help.

Where is your exact location? Any JDM dealer or repair shop will have them.

The Napa number 2222 was the correct one last week...

Thanks for the reply.

Near Sudbury ON.

I ordered 2 in at NAPA and picked them up today. 2222 is most certainly not the correct one, at least not here! Must be an Ontario thing, we're pretty screwy here, at least government wise! But thats another matter ...

3 suppliers total were all a no go.

Have you tried Right Drive? I can't imagine they wouldn't have them!? I have a K&N filter but I keep 1 spare in the van and another at home just in case, it might be a good idea to bulk up if they're that hard to come by.

I believe RD is in Toronto correct? I'll check em out next time down there. Your probably right, imagine they would stock them.
Thanks nxski.

1970 Highway 7, Vaughan, Ontario

Just outside of Toronto, it's the closest place I know of.

Why do not to use K&N E2871?

Any NAPA/LORDCO can get it for you, not to mention tons of websites from US...

Does the 2.5 Pajero use the same as the 2.8 and different air filter than the Delica L300? The correct filter for the Delica is E-4810. I assumed they were the same because of the numbers listed in the op...

Perhaps the reason the Napa 2222 number isn't working is because that's the Delica filter number!?

I installed a K&N in mine and it works great (food for thought)...

The K&N are great for city/highway but I find in read dusty unpaved locations they do clog up even with consistent cleaning. I spend the majority of time in really dusty location so standard filter seems to be a better choice.

I keep 2 spare (regular) filters in my van for that exact reason.

On 4x4 sites you see lots of complaints about fine dust trapped on oil residue down stream from the K&N filters (people swearing they keep the filter clean and some using pre-filters)...

I stopped using K&N on my 4x4 since they drink dust on forestry roads when I am working.....
