I want to hook up a RPM gauge/tachometer to my L300, (didnt have any from factory).
My problem is that i don't know where to get the signal from, is it possible to use one of the alternator leads, if so, which?
If i look at the alternator from under the car, it looks like this (see pic). What are the leads i made a red ring around?

I think most vehicles take the tach signal off the distributor. But the Deli wiring diagram in Downloads should point you to it.

You cannot take it from the distributor on a diesel as it has no distributor.

I thought it came off the alternator? Sorry mine just came with one so sort of a black box to me

Hi,
I also have same problem, but according to the sources i found in the web it should be connected to the alternator in the diesel engine and it should connect to the distributor when engine is gasoline. In one article there is a probe they mount in to the alternator to get the RPM signal.

What about instillation manual come with your new RPM gauge?

If you could resolve please update....
