Missing hose??

My L300 has a manual glow plug relay but today, for some reason, a wire managed to cross itself or something and my ignition cycled the glow plugs but would not turn over the engine and the relay button wouldn't do anything...I managed to jiggle the problem away (something I am going to try and track down this weekend) but while fiddling I opened up the panel behind the driver's seat and it looks like there is a 2 or 3 inch diameter hose missing.

The one open end leads to the tube that winds through the front driver's side wheel well, and it looks like it could connect up with another opening further to the rear and closer to the outside. Probably a stupid question, and one that I would figure out when I crawl under the van, but am I missing something critical? I haven't looked under the hood of another L300 to compare it to.

I'll try and take a picture tomorrow.
