Two snorkel? WTF?

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Two snorkel? WTF?

Post by MrDuncon »

Hi!

I just saw this video: http://youtu.be/LzPv8O0GWRk with some idiot drivers, but one of the deli's has got two snorkel....
First i thank that the exhaust and the snorkel is in the same pos, but there is a normal exhaust tip on the original place..

I dont know...

Any ideas?

(Here is an other dual pipes snorkel.. http://youtu.be/jcEVA11rL1E)

Most likely it is for more air (more then the motor needs)

However I thought of doing exactly two snorkles like that. 1for the air box and 1 to bring cold air to an intercooler.

I will never understand why the person drove over the gravel pile when they could have driven around it?

If you drive over something it should be because there was no other option

Do you have an intercooler yet?

I'm just planning it, but i have doubts.. because i drowe a Mitsu Strada for two weeks in my holiday and my '95 deli has far more torque on lower rpms. The only difference is the intercooler the pickup has got the same engine with 98hp.

Difficult to say other than the driver is using what looks like standard-sized PVC tubing to build a snorkel instead of a snorkel kit. i.e. he's making use of what is available.

That being said, I would agree as to the potential for an intercooler feed. When I was considering it for my L300, my original thought was to put the intercooler in that space where the air filter goes (after removing the big can and putting in a K&N filter. I was going to go with a fan-blown water-chilled intercooler, but never did get around to it.

It could also just be a snorkel for feeding air to the rear of the engine bay. The air dam on the front of the vehicles really limits how much air is scooped up off the roadway and into the engine compartment, and if there is a bash plate over that opening (as I suspect there might be), the driver may have found that an alternate routing of air was required to keep engine temps manageable.

You would never have your exhaust pipe and your air intake together. Your engine would not stay running very long.

I believe they mean 1 pipe would be the out pipe and the other the in pipe.
