Do you have the injection pump timing dial/tool ?
Without it you, Edwin is the most accurate timing setter !

You don't need to buy as it is quite expensive depending on quality.jonnydelica wrote:I do not have the injection pump dial/tool, Anybody know a good place to buy this?
As long as you do not run a repair shop, no need to keep it.

You can buy it from Mitsubishi or Volkswagen direct or from Rockymountainimports or online from one of the US retailers.jonnydelica wrote:I do not have the injection pump dial/tool, Anybody know a good place to buy this?
Price ranges from $150 to $500. I got mine for $175 in the US. You can even build your own. It's a standard Bosch type adapter.
There is one thing.
If you are asking about the dial plunger and don't know what it is, unless you are a mechanic or mechanically inclined/have done this before, there is a possibility to do harm to your engine if the timing is off and you drive it for any period of time.
Personally, I recommend people to have it done at one of the 'delica' shops or if you can't then any shop that specializes in either diesels or VW's (same IP on many VW's)
Expensive is relative to each person's wallet.Rising Sun Auto Import wrote:You don't need to buy as it is quite expensive depending on quality.jonnydelica wrote:I do not have the injection pump dial/tool, Anybody know a good place to buy this?

It's a simple tool and if a person wants to use one, there is no reason they can't providing they know it's use and how to read it.
