just have to make sure there is PLENTY of thread left to lug onto,
otherwise you will need longer studs,of course
Seems pretty inexpensive way to go.

1/4 inch to me really does not seem like you are
flicking the gods of Physics the bird and saying
"Whatcha-Gonna do about this Old man!"


I have been measuring some of my other rims laying about
and they seem to vary from 3.5 inches to 4.5 inches backspace.
So if the spacers end up requiring longer studs it might be
cheaper/less hassle to go with a different rim.

Also ,it would be a good time when you try those out to check the torques
on the upper ball joint spacer.

They were Loctite'd in though, wouldn't that break the bond?

I would say your probably good then,just make sure you can't spin any of em.

Those dimensions 1/4" 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern is right for the spacer.

Because the Mitsubishi's are not hub centric, the 1/4" spacers will work even off road so long as you have the correct lug nuts and double check/torque them on with a torque wrench.

That's nuts about the rub. My 31 BFG's didn't rub and there's a few guys running the toyo 4runner rims including Mitch and David. Just different tires. The goodyears really buldge out like a potatoe in your pants.

Those ones are the type we keep warning about, they add extra stress to the lug nuts, causing a higher risk of breakage... dangerous! (there's a reason they don't recommend them for off-road, or heavier vehicles, they know it weakens things substantially)

So if the rims I have now are 15x7 w 4.75" backspace an these are 15x8 w/ 3.75" backspace, would it stand to reason that the outside edge of my tire would be 1.5" (1" different backspace + 1/2 of the 1" wider rim) further out than it is now, and the inside edge would be 1/2" further out (1" different backspace - 1/2 of the 1" wider rim)

1.5" further out would really stick out- then I'd need flares for sure, and maybe sliding door problems?

You'll have sliding door issues and more trimming to do on the front.

However Turtle has 31" MTR Kevlar's (larger than 31" Duratrac's) with 15x8 3.75" backspacing wheels and it looks awesome.

And, I think my calculations are off-- this would put me a full 2" further out (ACK, that's a lot!), wouldn't it? With a full 1" more clearance on the inside?

I was talking to Brady @ Sportsman today and he said even with extra lift on the front your still having fun with your clearance issues. What's your next step?

The front end seems to be good now- the main issue now is sorting out the sliding door. I ended up getting new rims @ Fountain Tire- after much discussion w/ them I went with the 8" rims w/4" backspacing, but they stick out waaaay too far (sure looks cool though!). I think I'm going back to the 7" rims... (tire shop's going to switch em', no charge)
