4WDABC Event

Post by mark »

I just had a very pleasant phone chat with Mat at the Four Wheel Drive Association of BC (4WDABC). Mat briefly went over with me some of the useful work taken on by their group, including Eagle Mountain Key Access Program and the Stave Lake cleanup.

Mat let me know that 4WDABC is working together with the Coastal Cruisers this year in creating a "show and shine" for all off-road vehicles. Normally the Coastal Cruisers hold an annual event that is primarily for their club, this year they plan to make it much bigger and are hoping that some members from Delica.CA would be interested in showing up as well.

I invited Mat to pop in to the forum and provide some details as this event starts to take place.

It's great to see this thread immediately after signing up!

My name is Kim and I'm the President of the Association.

If you don't mind, I'll post information about our events here too. We host a couple of major clean ups around Stave Lake each year and try to get the word out as far and as wide as possible.

We'll get info up soon on the Show 'N Shine too.

Thanks a million for setting us up here!

Hello everyone!
I am one of the members of the Four Wheel Drive Association of BC, as well as the Editor of the Backroader Magazine that the Association publishes. Kim Reeves, our president will be signing up as well to introduce the 4WDABC and some of the local events that we host and organize (he's better at those things and has cool facts at his fingertips).
We are doing one event this year that's a little different than most. The Coastal Cruisers (a local Land Cruiser off-road club), ipartnershipip with the 4WDABC is hosting a "show and shine" (yes, we know the irony of that). The cool thing is that this year it's open to any and all off-road vehicles, clubs, we are welcoming everyone.
The show is July 28th at Mission Heritage Park, 7494 Mary Street, Mission. 09:00am - 03:00pm.
There will be a raffle, 50/50, there are food concessions on site, we are working on something to entertain the kids, and there are trail runs after the show with an overnight camping option. We will be working out the details of that and different options for different classes of vehicles.
Vendors are welcome (for a small fee) and should co-ordinate with Rob Schulz from Coastal Cruisers to arrange that. Sponsors and donations for the show should also be arranged through Rob. 604.309.5233 or Robert @ ajae . ca
More info can be found on our website:

or from the "horse's mouth" at the Coastal Cruisers website:

As always you can ask Kim or me as well.

Glad to hear someone is helping pull all the dead Delicas out of Stave Lake.

I have been meaning to join 4WDABC for some time now and I took this opportunity to do so. You can too, its only $20. http://www.4wdabc.ca/joinus.php?131-Join-Us

Impressive.
I imagine there is a fair amount of money within all that metal they are digging up.

I'm up for a Concours d'Elegance.

Hello again.
Just a little update about this summer's off-road show in Mission, Cruiser Days is coming along nicely. We're getting great raffle prizes together, there is entertainment for the kids in the form of a bouncy castle, we are looking at a possibility of an RTI ramp for the trucks.
Vendors, if anyone is interested, you can display your equipment anmerchandiseze for $50.00, take up as much room as you want the park is large. The Coastal Cruisers are hosting and we have confirmation of the Herd of Turtles showing up as well, still trying to finalize the destination for camping and a short trip after the show. We hope you guys can make it out too.
July 28th , 2012. Mission Heritage Park.

Hi everyone,
The Cruiser Days event is this Saturday, at Mission Heritage Park. I hope you can come out, it would be great to meet you all. It is a family friendly atmosphere and there is going to be a bouncy castle for the kids while the adults talk trucks.
There are a large number of right hand drives in the Cruiser club and I hope the Delicas show up as well and give the domestic guys a run.

Entry is by donation, food is on site care of the park's concession, the place is massive so there is lots of space, a local trip is scheduled after (with overnight camping).
If you are a vendor, there is a small fee for setting up a display (I think it's about $50 for as large of a display as you want).

All are welcome!

Thank you!
