If you look at the current lineup of dealers/service shops, you'll notice that most have been around since the forum's early stages.

What I find humbling, is that back then, the vendors businesses grew by providing good service and via word of mouth.

The best part, if you want to know how a (honest to themselves) vendor carries themselves on this public forum, go and look back when they first joined.

You can see a big difference between the guys in business that genuinely put this forum/members ahead of dollar signs and helped this community grow.

Some began helping with the new 'Delica' and some began by immediately selling.

It's really a good read if you have the time to look through these guys's first few years on this forum. Really speaks the truth about their intentions in our small community of owners/enthusiasts.

There is no doubt that those first few years, this community was 100% fun where everyone wasn't ashamed to shake hands, chat and be friendly towards eachother regardless of where they are from or what they do for a living. Really good times.

I own a repair shop in Coombs , Vancouver island . We have carried out many repairs on Delicas and have found many parts easily interchangable from parts stores locally . We also found some nice upgraded Monroe shock absorbers to give Delicas a slightly stiffer ride . I would be very interested in getting hold of a copy of the workshop manual if anyone is willing to sell a copy .

I have a repair shop in Coombs and have now carried out several alignments on Delicas . Tha main problem with these vehicles coming in from Japan is that the suspension is set up to give a small pull to the right to counteract the road camber for driving on the left side of the road . These vehicle need to be reset to give a small pull to the left to counteract driving on the right side . It takes about two hours to re-align the front to drive straight and with some upgraded Monroe shocks they are a very pleasant vehicle to drive . In fact i might just buy one soon as I spend all day road testing them and then jump in my Dodge caravan which isn`t quite the same !!!!

I have already bought in several vehicles from Japan and I keep seeing these Chamonix model Delicas . I know it is the skiing edition but does anyone know exactly what is different from a regular Delica ? I think I need to get me one of these Delicas !!!

Hi, i am new member here,known Mark for a while,finally Mark made it thru with this forum. very familar with Mitsubishi Delica & Pajero turbo & intercooler Turbo diesel. i works as a parts supervisor back home in the phils. we always deals with diesel over there. i see this forum need help when it comes to parts. i'm here to help, parts can buy in local Mitsubishi dealer
Here is some orig. Mitsubishi Parts number you need:
Timing belt - MD134377
Balance Shaft belt - MD363481
Glow Plug - MD092392
Tie-rod end (Inner& outer are the same) - MB527650
Lower radiator heater ( a Must for mitsubishi delica when its in a cold winter from 0 degrees seem like mitsubishi engine dont like cold whether) when install it you wont have any problem to start even its -10 to -40 it will fired up will help the glow plug. also try to put diesel antifreeze 70antifreeze & 30% water to maximize the coolant.try to plug it min. at least 3 hrs before you start the car. you can buy this parts in local lordco parts store: Rad hose heater 1 1/2 inch size # 3200003 list 54.90 cheap

Hi, sorry guys before i forgot,glow plug for delica 4D56 engine uses # MD092392 6.2 volts not 11 volts. 11 volts only use in New pajero V44 & V24 model pajero. pls do try not to put 11 volts glow plug in delica it might give you problem toward the glow plug system & computer ECU. this delica has computer ECU on board. another things to know. keep in touch everybody

Hi, cc auto, i been dealing with delica for long time if you see green color on the top edge of the glow plug , it should be 6.2 volt original replacement like NGk only 6 volt.you can buy this to local dealer mitsu give the parts # i post for delica 6.2 volts with green tip color on it. if you recieved the delica with 11 volts on it maybe they change it in japan from a previous owner but beware 11 volts as for i know only uses on pajero & newest model delica 1994 with 2.8 liter on it.4M40 engine not 4D56, but new pajero V44 & V24 i did see uses 11 volts. its just how this mitsubishi works for them. also always check the continuity of each glow plug if there is no continuity the glow plug is burn.willing to help you if you need more info. keep in touch hope this will help you

Re: A/C idle up adjustments. Mardydelica's right on checking and adjusting idle when the A/C button is pressed in to activate the compressor and idle up actuator on the injection pump. There is a linkage that pulls the lever up to increase idle for A/C. Proper adjustment of this is that when you turn on your A/C, the idle should just be maintained at about 750 to 800rpms. You shouldn't even be able to feel the idle go up. It should just be the same with or with out actuating the A/C. That proper adjustment saves fuel too...

Re: Cold start... usually, the injectors nozzle tips jell up too or sticks specially when stored for some time. Assuming the glo plugs all work well, starting at cold weather should fire up easily and just try and control the idle up with the throttle knob or the gas pedal. Gummy or sticking injectors can be cleaned ultrasonically.

Re: Water separator sensor on the dash... it would be wise specially in this cold weather to fill up at half a tank to prevent water condensation inside the tank. It's true... water is really bad for the injectors and injection pump.

hmmm ... lots of things I learned after I got my nice delica. ... from Mardy of course.

Engine type for the delica is a 4D56 using a VE rotary injection pump. These pumps were designed with a cold start system where it delivers a lot more fuel at starting rpm like 150rpm. It is normal for you to see some black smoke everytime you start your engine either when it's cold or hot. Once the engine fires, the "fog of death" should be clear.

Hi! just a word of caution on that screw. That's the full load adjustment and is factory preset to deliver the right amount of fuel at certain load conditions. The reason it's sealed with the cap is ....well ...they don't want us to touch it. There are a lot of shims inside the pump that eventually wears out thru time, fuel quality and kms run. When these shims wear, then another part called the plunger and barrel starts to deliver more fuel than necessary. These can be preset only with a calibration machine. So be careful, you can adjust it turning clockwise for more fuel and anticlock for less but only in very small increments. Good luck.
