New Guy Looking to Buy but so far just looking...

Post by Dog Is My Co-Pilot »

No Deli yet but this site has been invaluable in helping me figure out exactly what I'm looking for, what my options are, and what I should reasonably expect out of these vehicles...

I'm a broken refugee of the vintage vw scene-last vehicle was a '69 westy (aka "busted bus")-
I'm hopelessly in love with the L300's and hope to have one soon-warts and all.

Plan is to be more of a weekend warrior than a daily driver.

Thanks for all the tech info on the site.

Hey Pocket Pittie ~ Welcome to Delica Canada :M

What I did was ~ I was very specific in my thought process. After first seeing one I started by wanting a Delica (there were only L300s at that time); then I wanted a winter package; then I wanted a Chamonix; then I wanted a black over silver P25W with a green pearl in the clear; then she found me.

If you fancy a look-see sometime then send me a PM with your number and maybe we can arrange something. Also there is prospective JDM meet in Queensborough in February (see Events-Lower Mainland in the board index), there might be an L300 there... smiles.

Thanks for the advice Falco. It worked.
My new baby:
1991 Mitsubishi L300 Delica. Standard transmission. Engine recently overhauled by CVI. New OEM gaskets, piston rings, clutch, timing belt, water pump and thermostat. Turbocharger has been done as well. Injection pump newly overhauled and resealed. Delica Tune, Fluids and filters all new! Slightly lifted. Very nice rims and decent tires.

Very nice. Looks really good. Whose deli was it before it became yours?

I got it from Butch out at CVI.
He said he had been fixing it up for his son.
Don't know it's history before that.

I would put money on the fact that the rig is in tip-top shape then! Lucky you, no bugs to work out :-)
