Clutch Problems

Post by YukonJack »

Ok, so I have only owned my Delica (1992 L300 exceed) for about three weeks, so bear with me. Just the other day I was out for a romp in the snow and shifted into 4wd. I felt the clutch height/resistance change. We eventually parked the van, went for a hike and when we got back, there was no pressure left in the clutch at all. So now the clutch pedal can depress all the way down to the floor with no effect. And it doesnt bounce back up. I guess a few other people posted on this, but I didnt get much form those. I figure its one of the cylinders leaking, or a line blew. But for starters, I cant seem to find the gaddam clutch fluid reservoir. Somebody help? is it the same as the brake fluid reservoir? does anyone have a schematic of how the piping for the clutch hydraulic system is laid out? does anyone know where the slave cylinder is? Any help would be hugely appreciated...

That's right about the fluid. It is the same reservoir as for the brakes. The slave cylinder is along the transmission on the passenger side. The mastercylinder is behind the Dashboard which has to be removed to get at it. Check out the Aussie site downloads section for a schematic. I just got both replaced new cost me 275$ all included plus 3 week wait for parts.

Hello new Delica person, I dont have a rebuild kit for your res. however I think you could use some free information, go to my site and into the tech downloads, they are FREE, you dont have to register or anything. just move the mouse over each file and open it, its free to save and I recomend you print them off and possibly keep them in your glove box.

you dont have to sign up, register or anything.
Enjoy and I hope they help. and please pass them around, the more we know about our vehicles the better off we are.
