it's been around for a number of years. started out in Australia and other companies copied the idea.

works well with gas engines but diesel is a mess. I tried it out on an 80 LC and it was cool and worked but the diesel exhaust made it too dirty to carry inside.

They've always intrigued me since you don't need to have steel bumpers and jack points for a hi-lift, and it is almost as handy. Im not sure I would trust them in any off camber situations, or I would be really really careful how and how much you lifted the vehicle. I saw a youtube video of the guys truck kinda rolling down off of the bag, and that was in his driveway, not on trail.

Probably really handy for when you are high centered and want to fill the ruts. If you have the steel jack points or straps through the wheels, the hi-lift is still probably faster and safer (safety is relative with those things) and you can use it as a winch in a pinch.

Thanks for the insight Jesse and Jerry.
Wondering if one were to wrap a rag around the tail pipe before placing the hose over the exhaust, if this would eliminate most of the diesel particulate entering the Titan? The Titan does appear to fill up quite quickly.

I would not use this as a primary vehicle jack but as an additional tool. Something that cannot lock in place with the vehicle's full weight is not safe to use in all situations.

A highlift or similar as a primary lifting source and the air jack as a secondary or recovery tool is the best solution.
