Rear Windshield Wiper Arm Removal

Post by sigurross »

I installed a new wiper blade on my van last night. Every revolution it thumps against the bottom of the window, super annoying! Here is a picture:

Anyway, normally on my other cars I would just undo the bolt holding it onto the motor, straighten the wiper arm, pull it off, and readjust. When I pull it won't give. Am I missing something? I'm thinking perhaps it is just stuck as it hasn't been removed in a long time, but I thought i'd make sure before I tried forcing it off.

Here is a picture of the thread I removed the bolt from:

Any thoughts and/or suggestions? Thanks folks.

you have to pry it off. it's a splined shaft that has a slight taper on it.

being careful around the paint, a flathead or something to pry it outwards will crack it loose and it will just pop off the splined shaft.
