I havent heard lately with some of the changes being made to systems and motors, what sort of milage the group is getting, I've started to track my milage with my Iphone, ( gas cubby app) and in the welding truck, Im getting 508 mpg, I think I should be getting more but for some in town parts runs, the motor doesent heat up enough to switch over to oil before I get to my destination
This has included a couple trips to port renfrew for some fishing, while towing the boat, but still about 95% running on wvo.
My calculation was reached by starting with a full tank of dino diesel, one ounce of biocide in it as I did not know how long it would be sitting in the tank, put my trip odometer at zero and started my gas cubby entry, Ive put in 70 Liters of dino diesel since getting the system up and running with the new changes I put in, and will keep track of my milage , it might be cheating a bit, but I want to do a trip to Edmonton from here in Victoria and hopefully get over 1000 MPG from my truck, the truck gets 21 mpg on normal diesel, so I will have to put a few cubes in the box of the truck to make the journey back with out using more than a few liters of diesel
come on say your numbers, I know you have a fuel log going if your on wvo....
who is getting what for MPG or LPK running on wvo?

I'm hoping to convert by the end of summer. If I understand your question right, in my previous WVO vehicle (1999 Suburban), I did Wpg to Kelowna back and then ALOT of driving in the city before I filled the Diesel 130 lt tank up again. The fuel gauge really didn't move during the trip to BC and back. So...5000Km's+

great to hear, did you ever have any issues with your suburbans IP ? my welding truck has the 6.5L in it also , I hear that the IP for these are picky about what they run for fuel,
yes that was what I mean for milage, I know the vehicle its self will still only get 20-25 mpg on fuel, but i thought it was a fun way to ask how far people are going on wvo with out re fueling with dino diesel.
I built a pretty basic system for mine, cost with out factoring the huge alum fuel tank was under $500. I put it in my self so that saved a couple dollars, its not my first system nor does it come with a computer with lots of lights , its like my truck, basic nothing fancy, it just works :)

I made sure the oil was very clean and the motor was at opperating temp before I switched over. The FSD was relocated under the bumper with a home-made harness and a heat sink from a broken car amp. Total cost was under $20. I ran it at minus -30C on the highway (not including the windchill). Insulated all my lines to the IP and the tank. Mine is also very simple and manual all the way. The van came with a turbo timer so this will work well when I forget to purge!
