84 L300 Farrr South

Post by Akean1 »

Hi, just sticking my head up to say G'day. I have just found myself an 84 L300, and am about to get the motor reconditioned.
Folding bed, lift kit, living/camping mods to come.
Thanks in advance to everyone on here who has left information that will help me on my quest to the van that suits my needs perfectly :)

Cheers
Akean of Melbourne Australia

I'll be keeping the front bumper, not sure about the rear shelf. I need to mount the bike on the back (with an "Ezimotow") and that shelf might leave it hanging too far off the back.

WOW nice looking van for the age. I was in New Zealand for a year and all the old ones I saw were in raged shape.

Wow a second generation ~ I look forward to the progress pictures. I believe one of these were in the Paris-Dakar in or around '84.

I'll be looing for a 2" lift kit for this van pretty soon, is there someone still manufacturing them/or have designs for them on here?

What I did was add a leaf to the rear suspension and re-indexed the torsion bars and that gave me an inch and an half life and also increased my payload.

There might be designs floating about somewhere here. JFarsang has been known to get them fabricated, might even have a set left ~ But seeing as you are in Australia ~ would it not be more prudent to talk to T0me or someone in Australia?

Yes, local produce would be better. At the moment this forum is the only L300 specific source of info I have come across. Putting feelers out.
Thanks for the suggestions. :-)
