Went out this morning to check the elevation of open lakes. The past week or so lakes up to 3000 ' have been open and now I wanted to get to the better lakes. I started @ Community ( the best lake) @ 4500' and found snow requiring 4x4 on the way in and then lots of ice when I got there.
Next it was down to Sullivan ( Knouff) @ 3770' . The Rec site was dry and ready for camping however the lake was still about a 1/3 covered with ice.
Finally off to Badger which is still lower @ 3585'. Arriving @ the site it looks like the lake is open and @ the boat launch no ice to be seen. Even the 'natives' seem be ready for visitors while enjoying the sun.
