Re: abandoned van
Vin plate on the L300 is under a plastic cover in the trim by the drivers seat door side and at the front of the seat on the vertical wall under the seat is the manufactures plate.
I would look into how you get legal title to the abandoned vehicle (not sure how it would work given it is reserve land) but it sure sounds stolen since most people these days cannot afford to walk away from $10,000.

Re: abandoned van
Hello, exactly as TheDJJack says, but the vin numbers are hard to find. Easiest way is sit in the drivers seat, feel around on the carpet behind your leg just below your knee, feel for a little flap of carpet about 4 inches square, lift that flap to see the info ... but you need to read it standing outside the vehicle so first raise the steering wheel before exiting the vehicle. To raise steering wheel use the lever under the steering colum, where it meets the dashboard. With the wheel raised, you now have room to poke your head and flashlilght inside and read the vin info. Vin wil be 13 digits long ie P35w123456789. Do not post the whole number publicly for security and fraud reasons, best to send a private message PM to one of the regulars on this forum (I will help you if needed). Do contact ICBC or police (yes the Japanese VIN is only 13 digits long, so even if police or ICBC says its a wrong number because it needs to be 16 digits long, icbc will have that info). If you can post a photo on here, we might recognize it (especially any stickers will help). Regards, Christine.

Re: abandoned van
also check the drivers door jam for a ICBC assigned VIN (ICBC did this on the early imports).
Mine has a ICBC VIN it has been Canada long enough to get Citizenship I am sure :)

Re: abandoned van

Yep that is the VIN I would talk to the Police and ICBC.
I bought a car a long time ago from a landlord that went to court and got ownership of a car abandoned on his rental property. He had court papers that gave him title and ICBC paper work in his name.
Please post the outcome....

Re: abandoned van
I would call ICBC and tell them you want to recover an abandon car on your property. Being on a Reservation lands would make this even more interesting.

L300... L400? Colour?
My cousin had a black L300 low roof stolen a while back... he settled with ICBC but you never know... can you post a pic?
