Interesting concept of a winch. Old military vehicles were equipped with it during the wars. Probably works well on a Delica too, at least you don't need to worry about a strong mounting point for your electrical winch.

I looked at the cost. Way too much !

You can buy a pair of winches for one of their full kits.

Other thing is breaking strength/weight. It's at 2000kg's. Good for small/mid sized vehicles but it you have a heavier rig like ours, then you'll need to heavy duty gear and that's more $.

Funny thing is about these is that they have been around for a long long time on military and farm vehicles. I've seen it used on a tractor about 20 years ago.

Keep in mine this rating is per side and limited by the rope strength not the other components. It seems you have to use it as a pair which makes sens and would give enough strength for a Delica.

It is a good alternative if you have room for the extra space it takes up.

Wow that pretty over priced for a little rope and some honda civic rims and augers that only work in dirt/clay...

The 2000lbs rating is probably a conservative estimate to save your lugs. Its like using 2" spacers instead of adapters. (although I need to take a closer look to see for sure)


If you had those quick release lugs the kit would be cheap and easy to build.



Also, I'd like to point out that IMHO none of those 'recoveries' needed help of a winch. They looked moderately impressive, but they weren't really stuck.
