Greetings and Salutations,
My girlfriend and I just bought a 1993 Chamonix...we reckoned it would be handy for the pooch, the bun that is in the oven and for the bounty of unpaved roads in this majestic province of BC. I have lots to learn about these machines and this site seems an excellent resource! I had the van out in the snow today and in 2H, she does seem to wag her tail a bit. Is it ok to use 4H on slippery pavement with light snow? I was told by someone that is is not good for the L300 but, I do not fully understand why, if so. Regardless, we are glad to be here and look forward to summer adventures in our new van.
Cheers,
Marc and Shiki

Welcome to Delica Canada, Marc and Shiki
There is a mini-meet at the Tomahawk in North Van tomorrow at 09hrs (Sunday, 27 February, 2011), it's on Phillips just south of Marine Drive. Stop in for an excellent breakfast and meet some wonderful people... smiles.

Welcome to the club,
I am sure you can shift to 4H at this weather. I have a l400 and thats what I do. It helps a lot. You can go to the board index and search the appropriate information for the l300. I am sure there will be help cominf along too.

Re: Newbie Deli owners in Strathcona
Basically the L300 has a part time system (this is a good thing in my mine).
When you turn a corner inside and outside wheels need to travel at different speeds. now in 4H the front and rear axles are turning together. so when you go around a corner it needs to slip a tire. As long as it is slippery out it can slide a tire. If the pavement is dry it puts lots of load on the drive train trying to slide a tire.
Today 4H is all good.
