engine oil capacity please

Post by surferboy »

hi everybody, i still don't have a maintenance manual for my van, so i'm up for my first oil change (i bought a luberfinner oil filter lbf 805) and i was wondering how much oil do i fill the engine with, once all the oil is drained and the new filter is in place... i think i remember the guys in coombs telling me it was 4.5 litters but i'm not sure, thanks for any infos...cheers! by the way the filter was 29$ in vic at key two auto parts on burnside, i told the guy to stock them plus the air filters as well, 21$ and thats the luberfinner as well... cheapest i found in vic, i pretty much called all the parts shop in town!

i had the oil done at great canadian oil company in nanaimo and i think it was 5.9 if i remember correctly. i also have fallen into the habit of changing the oil twice to one oil filter as they cost so much.
hope that helps
paul
we are planning on bringing a case of oil filters in from england through a friend as they only cost a couple of quid each over there.

Mine holds just shy of 6.5 litres of oil. That is with a filter change.

The factory manual calls for 6.5L including filter and cooler.

I can't see how the cooler would drain out properly. This might be why Josh used a little less.

lordco sells the K&N 3001 for $17 Beacon auto can get them for $12

yeah guys, just got the oil change done, 27$ tax included at midas, bought my own filter at key two auto parts next to lordco on burnside in vic, lubber finner lpf 805, 29.5$ plus tx, turns out the beast took about 7 litters of oil, had to pay a bit more as midas only includes up to 5 litters with their oil change! mister lube on douglas wanted something like 56$ to do the job even if i provided the filter!! they lube you alright!

Fun reading the Japanese Manual, it does list 6.5L for 4x4 A/T (as far as I can tell)...
What oil is everyone using? I would assume 15/40 for diesel but the manual seems to show 10/30 and no API rating (must be a C)?
