Horn issues

Post by delidemon »

So I picked up my new Delica and I am getting it ready for the OOP and I can't seem to get the horn to work. Tried swapping the fuses with no luck and now I am trying to find the wiring issues.

Anyone with experience or ideas?

Thanks,

Don

Mine died on me just the other day. The fuse is fine so I'm assuming the actualhorn either got wet in the snow or just died. Either way I picked up an air horn tonight so if it's wiring I'll let you know after the weekend.

Pop the leads off the horn itself and see if you are getting juice to it. If not then I would check the connection at the steering wheel.

Not to hijack your thread... But I figured we could share your horn thread. ;)

Replaced the interior fuse this evening, hit the horn and it worked. When I tried it again it was dead with another blown fuse. I assume (correct where necessary) this would indicate a short somewhere between the steering wheel and the interior fusebox. What colours are the horn wires? I'd really like to get this cleared up tomorrow.

Thanks.

What was the result of this? Is it a stock steering wheel? I had a problem getting mine to work with my new steering wheel as there was no connection point for the ground wire. I ended up taping the ground wire to the interior or the hub adaptor and problem solved.
