Whipsaw trail Nov 13/14 sat/sun

Post by jessef »

Was fun : http://www.delica.ca/forum/whipsaw-4x4- ... -8825.html

Anyone who wasn't there or was there would like to have another go at it before the snow sets in ?

8-)

Can't 6/7, but 13/14 maybe - break in those new tires and wheel bearings!

No snow up there yet?

Tony.

Guys
Take a chain saw along. I was at Plateau lake (Merritt) this week and had access blocked two different directions from large wind downed trees. Luckily the powerline access was still open. Fishing was superb!

No snow there but it's cold at night, snow's just around the corner. Check the weather if you plan to stay overnight. Manning park area gets a lot of snow very quickly.

have fun

I'd like to go but the Delica is in the shop so I need to ride shotgun!

Or... could potentially bring some dirt bikes!

Hey Jesse,

About we try a full winter Whipsaw on the weekend of the 11-12 of December, from what we've drove last time, I think our Deli's can pretty much make it don't you think so?

I don't think the Whipsaw trail is good in winter. Too much snow to go anywhere with a car.

Not too safe in snow up there.

The safari's and Felix's (happy belated birthday !) L300 would make it with vbar chains on all four tires .... maybe ....

Stock L300/L400 won't make it in deep snow.

Fair enough! I'll trust more experienced 4wheelers! Any ideas of a winter trip? About Sloquet hot springs?

I would love to go somewhere camping, but I'm afraid I'd just be a bother, as a 2-door Olds coupe does not make a good camping vehicle, especially in any type of rough terrain
Wishin' I could move up to BC so I could trade the Olds for an L-300, haha!
Daniel

I'm car-less at the moment... Moving to Virginia USA
Looking forward to getting a Deli in the US, prefer a 1986+ L300

What's holding you back? Throw caution to the wind and just move to BC. 3 years ago I lived in a part of Canada which is known as the centre of the universe (Puke...) . My friends thought I was crazy to leave but I have no regrets.
