Wanted to add a couple of YouTube videos of the Bella Coola Flood from earlier last week. Terrible news and this will certainly hit the beautiful, quiet valley hard.
I have been following this closely as Bella Coola is my home time, though I only lived there for a couple of years. Most family returns every year still, my parents driving out of the valley just two days before the rains started. My family is Norwegian settlers that settled in the valley in my grandparents and great grandparents generations, but following the flood of 68 every family member slowly found it's way out of the valley. Property was lost, a fishing boat destroyed, and far better jobs awaited in the larger cities, but still the flood was blamed for family leaving.
This years flood was higher than the 1968 flood.
This is going to be a hard hit to tourism in the valley also.
