Shyshkevich Trophy. Sakhalin, Russia.

Post by Profister »

Just posted on delicaclub.ru. This was not a 'weekend ride', it was a one of dozens of Russian 4x4 competitions and only one L400 represented the Russian Delica club. There are some cool L400 pictures there. The second site is sloooow, be patient.

Beside winching all the way, was there any part they actually drove?

Felix: the answer from the Russian Delica club was: 'Not really'. :-D
They have a bunch of off-road competitions scheduled for this fall; I will try to keep us posted! :M

Winching all day and then attempting to rid the entire driveline of mud for a week after is not my idea of fun.

Nice pictures though :-D

I am not sure about that but if you managed to winch to the finish faster than anyone else you got the Trophy! That was the point. :-)

I just got the second answer: 'You could do it without a winch but only with a helicopter.' They have added another picture at the bottom of the first page to illustrate it.

All these photos of Russians thrashing nature really puts our minor Whipsaw off-trail drama in perspective.

pshhhh! These guys are recreational, giving mother nature love taps here and there. Have you ever seen Russian logging trucks at work?

I wish this video had subtitles of what the driver and passenger were saying

"Vasily, as today is your first day riding co-pilot for the замороженных ягодиц лесозаготовительной компании it'll be your duty to ensure the stability of the logging truck. Ok, so we're crossing the river now and..... черт возьми! Ok, Vasily it's your time to shine! Get out there!"
