I may be all over the world (virtually) looking for Mitsubishi owners to interview, but Delicas are never far from my mind. :-D

A friend who knows my closet obsession with your vehicles shared a picture with me today. I had to track it down. I found it.

Koya Nitta and Hiroki Watanabe ran the 1985 Dakar in a Delica.

Here's a link to the site where I found the image. There is a LOT of neat off-road motorsport history to be found on those pages. Hope you enjoy. http://dakardantan.com/paris-dakar-1985 ... a,572.html

Too bad they didn't complete. Cool just the same.

Anybody notice how many Mercedes and Toyotas gave up as well? And how many frackin' Pajeros raced? Holy sweet cow! No wonder the Pajero is the most winningest vehicle in the history of the race: when you enter 17 of them into each race, one or two of them has got to cross the finish line first.

I still miss my '94 Pajero!
