How much space ?
Did a search and came up with zipola. Can a L400 fit 4X8 drywall sheets inside without removing the seats ? Do all L400 models seats fold flat and have suitable chairs for car seats ?

Re: How much space ?
In a LWB a 4x8 can fit in with ALL the seats
In a SWB a 4x8 can fit in if you remove the captain's chairs
Yes all fold flat
Yes all are suitable for child car seats
I'll eat my hat if I haven't posted this before in the L400 specific section. Let me search quickly...

I guess a simple search turned out what you're looking for so I don't have to eat my hat.

This past week I've moved 10 sheets of 4x8 drywall, with a big stack of 8' 2x4s with no problem in my LWB L400. On the weekend, I moved a full size washer and dryer, with some rubbermaid bins AND still had my son in the passenger side, middle row captain seat, although he didn't have a lot of leg room (I wouldn't have been able to do that with a bench seat).Green1 wrote:And to present the other side of the coin, I actually believe the opposite to be true. The captains chairs also swivel and slide allowing all sorts of different combinations, and they too can be folded up and slid all the way forward out of the way, and all this without the base for the middle bench sitting in the way at all. The bench is certainly a neat innovation, but I wouldn't give up the captains chairs, I love the flexibility they offer.tonydca wrote:For the record, I have an L400 low-roof with the middle bench, and IMHO it is more flexible for carrying internal cargo than the ones with the middle row captain's seats.
The middle bench can rotate 180 degrees and slide forward against the back of the front seats. This coupled with having the rear seats fold up out of the way, I find this makes a very usable and quite cavernous open area in the rear without having to actually remove seats from the vehicle.

With the seats folded flat in the back (not in the front) I was able to get a queen bed air mattress in the back of my LWB L400 recently. There was still room up front behind the drivers seats for extra camping gear, so yes, these things have a ton of room.
