L400 in Gran Tourismo 5!

Post by sasquatch-hunter »

I have just checked the car list on GT5, and L400 4WD will be featured in the game! Apparently, the game will be released in Q3 on PS3 only!

Never was a fan of the PS controller for action or driving games... but I think I will have to learn for such a huge list like that! Good find, awesome :3

Not quite...my old 1982 Renault Fuego Turbo is not there. :-D

Too bad about the PS3 part...I too hate those controllers.

I have to say the controller is not that great for driving game, so I bought a set of Logitech steering wheel and pedals. It is great now, only missing a Recaro seat. By the look of it, the new GT5 is gonna be a vast game and that's why Sony keeps delaying the release date. I suspect that there will be at least 2 Bluray dics.

The format of the game is likely to follow all the previous GT games; there will be an arcade mode with limited selections of cars and the "career mode" where you start of with a small amount of credits. That will only be enough to buy yourself a "beginner" car. Then, you enter the easy "Sunday Cup" level and win some races, get B and A class licenses, win some more races. Then, you buy a Mines' R34 and blow everybody away on Nurburgring.

If you don't want to throw down for a PS3 driving wheel controller here is a cheap but effective controller accessory for driving games.

On the other end of the spectrum, you can get something like this! Bloody hell, that guy is doing heel-toe downshifting on a video game!?

I have a PlayStation 2, with steering wheel and pedals controllers. The selection of cars in Gran Turismo 4 has some glaring omissions, because at the time Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche had exclusive deals with Electronic Arts, so Polyphony couldn't have them in their games. There are, however, about 20 different Skylines.

My favourite cars in GT4 are the Honda Beat on the twistier circuits, and the Holden Monaro on the faster ones. The high speed oval is boring in anything slower than the Lister Storm... 8-)

Nerd content: the PS2 has a 64/128 bit (depending on the register, operation and data path) processor derived from the MIPS R4000. At one time you could get a version of Linux for it.

Actually, I read more closely and realized that Sony will only put something like 345 cars at first. The rest of cars will be available to be purchased online. A brand new way to make more money from a game.

I was watching those videos yesterday! They are awesome. Here is one of my favorite Delica Racing videos. Sounds like a Manual V6:

That first video, the guy in the deli looked like he was having tones of fun, couldn't help but notice it was a LHD too, was the video taken in south America or Spanish Europe perhaps..? I was slightly surprised on how well it held on some of those corners.

The second one was cool to see the 3 racing, currently owning the North American version of that Escudo (at least, that's what I think the guy in the video called it) I shamelessly say that's what was being cheered for here ;)

Kind of curious though, does anyone know if a L400 would be outrun by a 1.6L, 1.8L or 2.0L Tracker/Sidekick?
