Re: light question
hi, e11 code is not good this e11 is for uk. so diff pattern only E13 code original FROM MITSUBISHI is the right one but has 4 E13 mark on the lense. but if you got only 1 e13 mark on the lense is no good, its made in taiwan by tyc some people are using it to make its cheaper to put it in L400, but the reality its a wrong headlight as this is design for rhd country only the bean pattern is for right hand drive country.
but if you dont know about this you will be mislead on this. as this is the wrong headlight to put in your L400.
only original mitsubishi headlight is available for 1994-1996 L400 nothing else.
as per i see some headlight selling diff design circulating saying that its good for retrofit. as replacement.
this is wrong as this replacement is from taiwan & it will never do direct fit to your L400. it will looks funny & not nice. its only good for 1997 model.
thru my opinion dont go this way as this will make your L400 cheap & the value of your L400 will be lower as its not the right headlight to put in to this.
hope this help:

Re: light question
Interesting tidbit here: Canada and the States require lights to be 'E'-coded for a number of reasons, but neither is listed as an identified countried on this list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Foru ... egulations). If you look at a NA vehicle, the code on the lens is simply 'E' (with no number), but the other countries have their identifying country code after the 'E'.
What Mardy is saying is don't get E11 headlights because they are intended for the British market. Get E-coded lights intended for a LHD European country (like Germany E1 or the Netherlands E4). I cited those two countries because they previously had the L300 Delicas, so I would suspect they continued with the L400s. Of course, the trick is determining which years and which countries the L400 was marketed in and then sourcing LHD lights from them.
Apparently, with the outflow of L400s from the Japanese market, there is a real drain on the supply of LHD headlights at this time. I think it was Profister who was indicating the L400 is quite popular in Russia and they are buying up considerably more L400s than we can.

I agree with Mardy - I think this is what a Series-II headlight quickie install looks like on a Series-I L400:MardyDelica wrote: this is wrong as this replacement is from taiwan & it will never do direct fit to your L400. it will looks funny & not nice. its only good for 1997 model.

Re: light question
Hi,
Another newbie here, thanks to all for the good info and help.
Where do i source Direct Fit E-CODE Original Mitsubishi headlights for left hand drive? Probably this has been answered in an post somewhere, but all i can find is that they come from europe. How does someone find them? I have asked a few people in japan, but (not surprisingly) they do not make or sell rhd lights there.
I am in kazakhstan right now. There are hordes of L300's and L400's here. I talked to one guy and he told me that they do not need to change the lights and nobody bothers (it is a drive-on-the-right-hand-side-of-street place). I did see one with a hard plastic casing around the headlights which i assume was there to limit the beam. K-stan has now banned the import of rhd vehicles.
