L400 WVO?

Is anyone running a L400 with a WVO kit installed? I searched the forum and google, and I have only seen the conversion kits installed on the L300s.

How does the L400 perform with a WVO kit?

ive never driven in an L400 and dont know if any have been converted to WVO. however i have seen practically every other make of diesel automobile converted to run on WVO and there likely is no good reason why an L400 should have any trouble. im pretty sure the sensor technology that is confused by WVO didnt come until early this decade.

None locally that I'm aware but the engine bay would be nicer to work on than a 300 for the wvo install. I wouldn't hesitate to do it. And sounds like they are still indirect injection so all good.

Secondary fuel tank would be similar to 300 (only Pajero becomes an issue).

I'm gong to install one in January.

They are the same as L300's

same type of fuel tank, lines, injection pump, injectors, fuel filter, etc ....

You just have more room in an L400 to work with which is nice.

I ran 80/20 and 50/50 veg/diesel in the summer.

I'm also planning on installing my old Plant Drive kit on my L400 in the next few months. It is the next project after my house, and the WVO filtering shed..., but before my indoor rock wall.

I want to get a custom WVO tank built around the 120 litre range. Jesse, what are your plans for a fuel tank?

I will probably go with a marine plastic tank in the rear unless I can find a good marine aluminum one to fit.

that is good to hear, I thought I saw someone saying that the L400 didn't like mixing, but I they never said why, and I can't think of why an engine would be ok with one or the other but not a mix.

Hi all, new to the forum and that's primarily because I'm a new Delica owner! Quite exciting...

Anyhow, the wife and I were inspired after reading the Gearbox Magazine article about 'After Oil's' trip to Mexico in his WVO modified Chaminox. We too like the environment, dislike big oil and like to save a buck or two whenever possible, so WVO has always been in the back of our minds, but after reading about all the success stories regarding WVO and Delicas, we're hyped to convert ASAP! Thanks all for the inspiration.

That said, a couple of you posted that you'd be doing the install in your L400s this month. Any luck? I'm not the most savvy when it comes to engine work & fuel systems (learning), so I'm hoping someone may be able to advise me where to start in compiling a WVO kit for the L400.

I would recommend reading this forum on a regular basis. I have been reading it for months. There are a good number of posts on here about WVO conversion and usage. As you noted, no one has done the L400 yet - not on here anyways. I did see of one in England running on WVO after some extensive googling.

I am capable of performing the WVO install on a Delica - but unfortunately I no longer have access to a garage - or tools! I am hoping to purchase a kit from someone like AndrewH and pay for the installation as well. I think that L400 WVO stuff will be seen on here soon. You will probably be seeing stuff from me in the next few months. I have already spoken with Mardy about locating an L400 that meets my requirements, and as soon as he can find me one and import it I will be installing a WVO kit - and an oil bypass filter. (Because the oil bypass filter is a wicked cool idea...)

I'll be installing my wvo kit mid march.

Too much on my plate till then.

For reference, it is exactly the same as the L300.

Except there is more room to play with in the engine bay.

I would guess you are mixing it with the regular diesel as you don't have a WVO kit at the moment?
