Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Danka floP,

Yea I wasnt 100% about the tuning though as everyone here tunes so that there isn't any black smoke (yet I see trucks BILLOW smoke out all the time in Alberta), But I guess BC laws are differnt and they do have emmisions.

So can anyone here verify tuning for HP without worry of smoke and still see lower EGT's?

On a side note, on my Audi tuning forum I recently saw someone say their EGT's were getting a bit high on their Turbo 5 cyl 10v. 1450f on cruising... Yet everyone there even 034 motorsports owner said this was ok. Also it seems WOT temps are lower than cruising so theororetically why dont the Delica owners push their vans even harder! That outta solve temp EGT temps! :-D

Man Im loving learning about all of this diesiel tuning cause theres no worry about igintion or advance/retarding the ignition! Wayy simpler!

the easiest, and least controverstial way to do that is to put on a bigger exhaust. lowers EGT, increases power, shouldn't affect smoke output.

What if we don't mind billowing smoke into the people behind us?
Has anyone tuned it this way?

Hi Eric!

you are right. Plus: No headscratching about valve timing and compression ratio.

But: Please keep in mind the audi 5-cylinder is a petrol engine with higher EGT by nature. Up to 900 °C are considered as normal in this engine, which is far above the 700 °C-limit for our units.

With everything set to the correct specs (!) and healthy injectors you can increase your output considerably without smoking by means of a bigger exhaust (thanks, green 1) and an intercooler. Even more power is possible if you accept soot. Quite simple.

Greetings,

flo

Thanks floP, And its Kyle not Eric :-D

The info seems pretty simple haha cant wait to try and get one if I dont get another 90q20v.

I envy you being in Germany and having such an Audi scene! Im having problems finding parts let alone aftermarket support lol.

Thanks for the info again!

Kyle.

Excuse me, Kyle!

A little OT: On the one hand you are right - the Audi plant is not even 100 kms far from my place. Lots of audis around here and a lively scene, too. But that makes them so inflationary that they are considered as absolutely normal: An Audi - so what?!

I have tuned up to having black smoke coming out.The only problem with this is egt after turbo went to 1400F with in 30 seconds. The more fuel you put in the hotter diesels run. They are the opposite of gas .Leaner mixture diesels run cooler, richer mixture run hotter.I am running 25psi boost & alcohol injection. With more boost you have a greater volume of air, which leans out the mixture. This is why egt is lower with more boost, without adjusting the injection pump.I have also advanced my injection pump timing alot! No idea how many degreas. This also lower egt but put more of the heat into your cooling system. Its fun to play with but you need to have a pyro & boost guage.
Thanks Shaun

This is alot of topic floP,

WOW! :o I really envy you! Im a huge Audi fan so one day I'm going to make the trip out there to see the factory. I heard it's liek one big automotive amusement park!

Also on a side note guys I wont be getting a delica for a while yet =/

Unfortunatly with my 90's ignition crapping out I needed a replacement car and well on such short notice Cash wasnt at a prime, So Ill be driving a 94 Golf GL.
When you see a little white golf waving and honking furiously (and if im not busy attempting to follow you XD) it's just me so dont panic.

Still pretty stoked to be getting a mk3 golf. Its not fast or anything but Man With some lowering springs, a paintjob, and some rims with smoked out headlights.... Man are they wicked.

OH

Are you running that much boost on stock internals? And 26's psi Wow thats either an aftermarket turbo or the stock one is screaming for bloody mercy!
How does the Delica feel? Like again 26 psi thats ALOT of air moving into the motor...
