Re: Hi
If they are scared, ask them to take a drive. They'll see it's no issue at all.

Re: Hi
considering the sheer number of RHD vehicles around, I can tell you that the "fear of driving on the right" is not all that prevalent, there is quite a bit of demand for these vehicles, now unfortunately that demand isn't as high right now as it was a year or 2 ago, so it's more of a buyer's market right now, but it still shouldn't be that hard to sell.Candice wrote:Hi everyone, i'm from vancouver island. If you have someone who is interested except for some hesitation about driving on the right, just explain what a non-issue it is and let them take a test drive, most people I've met who have driven RHD recognize immediately that it's no harder than LHD, and many immediately see how much BETTER it is than LHD.

LOL! How do you know so much about demand when you haven't sold ONE RHD vehicle in your life? What are you basing your comments on?Green1 wrote:considering the sheer number of RHD vehicles around, I can tell you that the "fear of driving on the right" is not all that prevalent, there is quite a bit of demand for these vehicles, now unfortunately that demand isn't as high right now as it was a yearCandice wrote:Hi everyone, i'm from vancouver island. Re: Hi
kei: I know you don't like me, I don't know why, but following me around and attacking me at every opportunity doesn't help anyone here.
What I know about demand is simple, I'm one of the most active members of a couple of forums relating to these specific vehicles, I also keep an eye out for these vehicles through local classifieds for various parts of the country, as well as through various importers. I have found the following:
- price of vehicles has dropped significantly in the past few months/year
- length of time vehicles stay "for sale" has gone up significantly in the same time period
This, as far as any specific seller is concerned, equates to lower demand for their vehicle. this is what is known in any market as a "buyer's market" as there are more choices available at lower prices overall.
As for overall demand, as I stated in my original post, it's obviously still there as many people drive RHD, and many vehicles continue to be imported, just not as high as 2 years ago.
Is there any specific part of this information you wish to refute? or is it just me you have a problem with? and if so, let's hear your issue!

Re: Hi
DEMAND HAS INCREASED... but new SUPPLY outpaced this increased demand.
The problem is nanks won't lend money for 15 year old vehicles anymore. Most they will give you is 50% even if you have perfect credit. This has left mostly cash buyers. If anything, this is what has lowered the prices. Most people don't have $10,000 sitting around so therefore they need financing to make a purchase.

Re: Hi
Loki, do you want to share your opinion on demand for RHD vehicles? Are you in a position to give this woman advice on selling? How many RHD vehicles have you sold? Is it safe to say between you and Green1, then total is ZERO?

Re: Hi
Hey Candice,
Although as Im sure KaiKewl or whatever is name is will jump to point out I HAVE NOT SOLD ANY JDM OR RHD VEHICLES, but what I can tell you, is that if you keep your price fair, someone looking exactly for that will come along and take it off your hands. Just be patient. If you really need the cash, you may want to consider selling it to a JDM dealer for a probably less than fair price, but at least you'll get some cash in hand.
Nice truck, If I was looking for a LWB I'd be glad to drive a fine specimen such as that. Six months ago, I may have even contacted you. Its a niche market, but someone will eventually be looking for exactly that.
Also, if you have a hard time selling it while advertised as RHD, leave that out until they are there, looking at and testing it out. Someone looking for a Pajero already knows that, and someone that has never heard of it can find out when they are at your place as you pull out your high stress sales tactics ;)
Hope that helps! Good Luck!

Re: Hi
It FEELS like it has been a lot harder to sell a RHD vehicle ever since that ICBC report came out. I had one guy threaten to assault me in my yard when he arrived and realized that my Hilux Surf was RHD...wanted me to pay his gas mileage for coming to view it and wasting his time... rtard...it was a good thing I was doing home renovations and had a 2x4 with nails in it beside me...when he raised his fists I raised the 2x4...luckily that changed his mind and he left. Since then I do not meet buyers at my house only in semi-busy parking lots like Canadian Tire etc...a tip I recommend!...there are a lot of weirdos out there.
Delicas sells well it seems. Almost anything else can take a long long long time to sell for a reasonable price. It took me 2 years to sell my Celsior for less than what the wheels were valued at. Selling my Hilux Surf's has been just as trying (2 1/2 years with no bites on my 91). I follow the RHD sales in the local Okanagan classifieds and routinely see the same few Pajeros, Caribs and Townace vans show up month after month after month (along with my Surf haha). And almost no dealers will take RHD's as a trade anymore either so unless you want to dump the vehicle at a cazy low price you can expect to be driving around with a FOR SALE sign in teh window for a long time. Just my opinion based on the area I live...your experience may differ.
Also might want to list it for sale in the Other Vehicles section here at Delica.ca since that is where some people might be looking for a Paj.
Good luck.

Re: Hi
Well, am I right or wrong???
You + Green1 = 0 sales.... ?
How are you supposed to give advice when you have NO EXPERIENCE? That goes for mechanical advice too!
Telling the woman to price it "fair". Actually FROM EXPERIENCE, I found the opposite was true with Delica buyers. The higher the price, the better they think the quality is and the more phone calls. Lower price attracts tire kickers. Most RHD buyers are a different breed.
You guys have way too many posts for such a short period time! Consider posting only when you have first-hand knowledge of a topic so you can back it up with facts and theory. It's no use to copy and paste what you've read in the past.
