Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

Bye Bye EGR

Post by DelicaFreaka »

Received my EGR blocking plates from UK (nice kit) and said goodbye to my EGR valve forever. Nice clean looking install. Have not road tested yet but will update........................Kirk out

I was able to use the existing gaskets as they were in good shape. It would be nice if the kit came with them though. You could always use "Form A Gasket" if you had to..................Kirk out.

Now would be a good time to thread a hole in there and plug in a pyro. 8-)

Oh, so you take the ERG out of there entirely instead of just blanking it? Looks nice, does it real add much performance, or are you trying to keep the engine cleaner?

Curious as to why you ditched the EGR altogether, rather than just stealthily sneaking in a blanking plate in front of one of the gaskets. Less likely for some AirCare Gubmint Flunky Do-Gooder to spot under the hood.

But absolutely - nice looking job. Did you get it from Milners UK?

The kit that I got was the heavier thick blanks which are designed for removing the EGR altogether. If I would have wanted to leave it in I would have had to use the thin plate. I just preferred the look with no EGR whatsoever. We don't have Aircare here so I don't have to worry. I kept the EGR and if I sell to someone on the coast it can easily be put back for Aircare purposes. Highly recommend doing the mod either way as it has the benifit of increased power/fuel economy. The 4m40T that was used for vehicles sold in the UK did not have the EGR on it.
I purchased the kit off Flea Bay.......................Kirk out.

Aircare doesn't care if you remove it, as there's no legal requirment to have it in the first place. All they care about is what number their fancy little machine spits out, and what size you say the engine is.
