Re: block heater
For all of you that plug in. Home Depot has 50' cold weather extension cords on sale from $77.00 to $25.00. Great deal I picked one up this week. Check the flyer.

Re: block heater
I would love to put in an Espar... I talked ot an installer about the webasto.... $3000 + and hea said he wouldn't do it. As a certified installer he is not allowed to install on non-approved vehicles. Friends in Grand Prairie got an Espar installed on their deli for $2500. And Iwas drooling over their system... This is after I had major troubles when the rad hose heater the shop isnstalled instead of the block heater I had requested calfed out in the - 30s. I installed a circulating heater which got me throught the winter fine.. I hooked it up to the coolant liines near the air filter, and it seems to work fine, But I am planning to install the proper block heater before this winter and reconnect the circulating heater near my WVO tank on a timer so I have warm oil in the mornings. IF I had some more cash I would get the ESPar in a heartbeat..There are definately threads on block heater installs, on the passenger side rear frost plug hole... Sounds awkward, but doable.

Re: block heater
Well, I put a block heater in my 2.5 (4D56) Pajero, and definitely awkward. But I've yet to hear of anyone putting a block heater in a 4M40, which is what the original poster was wanting to do. Still waiting (and hoping) to be proven wrong. In the mean time, I put in a large oil pan heater and had no issues last winter, in cold starts down to the mid minus 30s...Manitoba Delica wrote:There are definately threads on block heater installs, on the passenger side rear frost plug hole...
