I finally gave in...

Post by Green1 »

Well, after a long debate, I finally decided that my next Delica was going to be an L400, so I put down a deposit on one from Mardy (Amazing Auto Imports)

very nice looking ride, let me know if you are interested in a trade, my wife isn't so keen on the 4" lift, she seems to think it'll make it more prone to tipping

Well, it's here! This weekend I get to go pick up my new ride! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Still working out the exact details, but probably fly out there, pick it up, and then come home the next day... Anyone want to meet up in the evening while I'm in the lower mainland?

Just don't go and drive an L400 !!
That is when the infection starts !!! I was perfectly fine and madly in love with my L300. Just me and her driving down the road together . Then i saw her replacement (the newer younger model) On the road one day. I thought "gee this newer younger model looks kinda fat and round......kinda ordinary . I like my current loves chiseled physic ....Her lean svelte body ......."

Then it happened.......i was alone .......i saw an L400 alone in a parking lot. The door was open.......i went inside....
I thought to myself ,"This can't be happening . I am strangely attracted to this new model. I started her up.......stepped on the accelerator and was surprised how much quicker this new model was....how easily she turned and much quieter and more comfortable she was !!

The shame.......The shame ........

I hate myself and feel dirty !! ..........
The Mighty Boosh !!

Blasphemous!!!! And so you should feel shame!!!! For no amount of soap will rid you of the dirt that contaminates your affection for your former love!!!! (note: sarcasm, mixed with a little bit of curious envy). Enjoy your new rides former L300 lovers!!!

L400 is only 33.33333% better than the L300!!!!

Congrats and let me say that when I met you and you were very skeptical about the L400's, I knew right away one would end up in your hands sooner or later.

Your going to wet you pants when you pick that up. A LWB Royal is the bees knees. I see it has the pop up front parking pole. If you are lucky it may have ABS and driver airbag. Some of the early Royals had those. I don't know what you speed limits are there or what your roads are like but an L400 will cruise at $130+. It will have lights that turn on when you go in a car park, or when it gets dark. Just leave the lights on all the time. They will go off with the engine so there is no need to ever have them in the off position. Also variable speed intermittent wipers. ECS Suspension. Nice set to Hard on the highway at high speed. Heated seats and windscreen. 10 Speaker stereo but the head units are a bit ordinary and usually require a band expander to work unless you live next to the radio transmitters. A lot of Delis turn up with aftermarket head units. I'm guessing you want sleep tonight.. :-D :-D Enjoy.. Cheers.

Well, it has the pop-up parking pole, and it has a driver's airbag, I don't know about ABS... speed limits vary, but highway in Alberta is all 110kph, as is the coquihalla, the rest of the trip home is a 90 limit. As for lights, we have daytime running lights added on (Canadian law) so there's always some light out the front, but I do tend to drive with the headlights on anyway for safety (means there's actually light out the back too!) And I tend not to go in many covered parking areas... most of them around here are too low, especially once I put my antennas on.... It has the ECS, and heated seats (Mardy confirmed that they are there, even though you can't see them in the pictures I got earlier), don't know yet about the heated windshield, but I suspect so. the 10 speaker stereo I hope is good, but it will be getting a new head unit anyway (which of course means the 6 disc cd-changer will be going too.)

As for sleep... well... I've been anxiously awaiting this for a while, another day or two won't kill me I suppose...
