side markers

Post by visotzky »

Hi, I guess I need to rewire my front signal light so that it acts as a side marker,First do I need to do this I bought this Delica off of a dealer last month. Everything else checks out, IE side reflectors front and back, High Mount brake light, tires, DLR and glass.
Green 1 sugested cutting the ground that goes to the signal light and connecting it to the to the powerline for the front marker. I got two wires one green and one black. Is the black one the ground? Can someone pls explain why this works? Do i leave the other half of black wire un connected?
Cheers

As the general consensus appears to be that I do not know what I'm talking about, and cause more harm than good, I am removing this post so that others are not tricked in to following my ill-advised instructions.

well... on the bright side, you can always solder things back together again... (I've had to do that a few times on this vehicle so far...)

perfect, I think the vehicle looks better this way anyway!

as for easy... most things actually are, once you get over the apprehension and fear of doing it... and figure out HOW to do things. Never be afraid to try. one think I learnt many years ago is "never be afraid to open the hood" even if you don't know what you're doing, sometimes it's the most obvious thing, and in a lot of cases, if you don't get it right the first time you can always put it back to the way it was (with wiring I always know that if I cut the wrong wire, it's a simple job to solder it back together again...)

When tackling any job I always think to myself "what's the worst that could happen" and in the case of something like this the answer was "a blown fuse and having to put it back to the way it was" I can deal with all of that, so I went for it.
