Hello Delica forum,
We purchased last December and have finally named our Delica; therefore, we decided it was time to register for this site. "Chucka," our chamonix, has so far been great. We didn't get much of a chance to travel with "Chucka" due to being out off the continent but look forward to some great "sleep in the van" winter camping. Anyone know of some good sites up the sunshine coast; we're situated in Abbotsford.
Cheers!
Chris and Becky

Cheers and Welcome aboard Chucka gang,
Love the photo you stuck in Photo album! We knew we'd miss family and friends, but shocked at how much I'm missing the white stuff - don't know if I can handle another winter without snow. So pictures like this help some; thank you.
If your up as far as the Powell River area Afteroil and myself can recommend many backroad routes and camp spots. From Lund to Saltery bay, and inland, it is a great camping area once the kids go back to school - the crowds disappear but beware of logging trucks like most of BC.
Best Regards,
Kevin

Thanks for the warm welcome!
We're hoping to do some Fall camping up the sunshine coast real soon. Lund is an area we may move to and want to get to know the area a little better. Any suggestions? Are you living somewhere that never gets snow? Glad to help bring back some nostalgia. Last winter in the valley received a crazy amount of snow. And we loved it; we broke in "chucka" and ended driving everyone to christmas dinner with our 4 wheel drive because no one else could get out.
Cheers!
Becky and Chris.

Re: New to forum
youll be in good company in lund, thats for sure. kevins old delica lives there with a real nice family who are also my greatest and oldest friends. lund is a fantastic community.
if your looking for somewhere with no snow, you might try a little south uf lund, like near marin county
i live "south of town" abt 12 km south of powell river. its certainly sunnier here than in lund.
download this map
http://www.discoverpowellriver.com/file ... 377779.pdf
its got all the campsites and roads in powell river area. pm me for detailed info on campsites and trails, ill give you my phone #. one thing to consider is that some of the logging roads are closed to cars during the week(before 5 pm), unless you have a radio (maybe i can loan you one!)

Cheers, we moved from PR to Thailand a year ago, crazy how time flies. Was loving the pictures from Vancouver Island and lower mainland deep in the white stuff; thou the some friends and family didn't seem to happy with the accumulations of the white stuff.
What time of year does Dinner Rock campsite lock the gate? That is a sweet spot to camp on the bluff over looking the water and watch the sunset. Good launching pint to explore Lund, Savary and Sarah Point.
Summer 2008 and the Van that still resides in Lund

Cheers
