Fun Times in AB

Post by Firesong »

I love the looks my daughters and I got this weekend.
Did a little camping close to Boyle Ab.
There are some 4x4 trails 30 min west of Boyle.. crown land.
Man did the quads come out for the long weekend.
Crazy times.
I took my two girls (age 10 and 12), the Delica and pulled a
16 ft lund aluminum through the trails to set up camp.
I forgot something.. usually it's something like cutlery..
I forgot the tent poles........
It wasn't supposed to rain...

p.s. it rained... hard
we did stay dry

I just think too many people don't know how to drive... I got through those holes easy.. with a trailer.

Dome tent not so 'domey'. But it looks like the girls didn't mind so much. Looks like more room than flipping the boat upside-down and sleeping under that.

What does your trailer/boat arrangement weigh? No problems towing?

I still miss my '94 Pajero!

Im not sure what the boat weighs.. not too much.
It's a 16ft aluminum lund, wooden floors, the motor
probably weighs under 100lb.
You feel the trailer more if a wind starts on you.
Pulled it about 1400km this last weekend.
Diesel mileage went down
a bit, think it was about 5$ more a tank to fill.

I kept the speed at 100kph

I considered flipping the boat or even using the boat as a
wall and securing the 'tarps' to it but thought that if
it decided not to rain any more we would leave it
and use it again.
Mother Nature wasn't quite so accommodating.
