Hi, I just got a new Delica off the boat and I'm insuring it tomorrow.
Where should I take it to get it serviced? It's an L300. Also, I'm looking at roofracks, its a high roof so am i really limited?
I'm excited and looking forward to our first trip....the Island probably.
Looking forward to reading through all the topics...

Re: my new baby
Well without more info as to where you are located i would say without a doubt ...........take it to CVI in richmond !!
They will treat you right And won't charge you for things you don't need. Just use the seach function and type in CVI for all the feedback !!
Cheers isaac

I'm assuming that's "Vancouver Island", unless your van got off the boat in Churchill and you mean "Baffin Island".judithanne wrote:I'm excited and looking forward to our first trip....the Island probably.

There are a couple of good/excellent mechanics here on the Island: John at E4 Auto in Duncan, and Glen and the boys at CCAutos in Coombs. Both are straightforward guys and I've had my van into both of their shops.
As for roof racks, Thule makes one which is tall enough for the high-roof, but I don't remember the model number. Others have bought it, but prepare to pay (for quality, but also for the name).
And finally, welcome to the group - welcome and well met. If you could update your profile to include your location (just city is fine), that will help others in the future direct you to locations for maintenance, parts, gatherings, hangouts, etc.

Re: my new baby
oops, sorry about that, the combination of total Luddite and being new to this has hampered my ability to be clear. I live in Vancouver and am looking to service it here generally. I do, however, get to the Island to visit parental units in Ladysmith and so can go to coombs as well. Thanks for the tips. I'm so excited I can barely stand it. I got my first "other Delica owner" wave on the way home from getting insurance today. LOL.
