Most importantly, what do I replace this wire and connection with so it doesn't burn again?

Monday I call CVI (Edwin, my cheat cheat), he gives me a list of things to do and I borrowed a volt meter from work. Not that I really know how to use it. lol...I did confirm 12 volt on the battery.
So last nite I check wiring to battery everything looked ok, then next on the list was the solenoid.
Ok, get my Delica book, hmm where is the Solenoid? Ok, where is the starter? Book, forum ........Will have to call Jay on Tue.
I suck as a mechanic.
Poking here and there i look at the battery area one more time and I find a connection that is burnt. Hm, is this it?
Let's see, keep the wire in the burned plug, stretch my long arms to the ignition, crank, I GET A START AND A SPARK!




So what part does it actually operate? Starter/Solenoid combined?
