DERHD's stands for Delica-Enthusiastic-Right-Hand-Drivers...
I just felt I had to write a new, happy post about the Delica Community as opposed to continue to contribute to the negative energy that this other guy has created...
Delica.ca is the first forum on which I ever participated with more or less frequent comments, questions, reactions etc. and the experience has been entirely positive.
I have posted a few critical stories (most notably the "Are Delica's Crap" post from my very early days of Delica-Ownership) - but at no moment have I felt that I had been ignored or otherwise responded to in any negative way. I actually find it quite remarkable that - even if somebody posts something downright negative (such as the other guy) there is still an overwhelmingly positive attitude and many Delica Fans are reaching out and offer help, assistance or "let's go for a coffee" kind of reactions.
But without further focus on that negative post, I just wanted to make a point about being entirely happy with the forum and even more so with the great people I have met at some of the local events - even if not all of my posts receive immediate attention or feedback from dozens and dozens of other members...
Anyway... I am just in the Shuswap for a week and yesterday successfully launched the boat for the first time with my "new" ubuilt-trailer (for which - to get registration and insurance - the forum was particularly helpful...)
I managed to clock myself at 39 km/h on the lake with a 25horse outboard... weeeheeeww.... almost capsized trying to tiller steer the inflatable (and maintain a straight course) while frantically staring at my GPS to get a good speed reading... A lot of fun though.... and all thanks to the Delica with the new trailer hitch....
Happy times and Happy Canada Day everybody,
Chris

Right on!
I visited a couple of ham radio Field Day sites last weekend, and at the Delta Club's site Gumdrop had company, a grey '91 low roof Exceed. Look in http://www.deltaamateurradio.com then follow the links to "Photo Gallery", "2009" and "Field Day". The owner and I compared notes on antenna mounts and things (a challenge when your vehicle is basically a box on wheels
), and shared our smugness at driving such cool vehicles. Apparently a couple of other people in the club have Delicas, and a couple of others are thinking of taking the plunge. I sang Gumdrop's praises to one of the thinkabouters, and gave him the lowdown on the L400 Space Gear as well.
My next big trip is to the Cariboo in August, and to make things interesting I'm coming back via Prince Rupert, Northern Expedition down the Inside Passage, and Port Hardy. I'm likely to do something smaller in the meantime.

Re: A Happy World of DERHD's
In my mind the most significant controversial thread I've seen in this forum was the James Robinson/JDM Wholesale Fiasco. In the beginning some of the harbingers of doom were spanked a bit while denial was still a factor.
However that one was, and still is, very significant. This last "rust" diatribe may be entertainment, but it's certainly not significant.
It's great that everyone is allowed to speak their mind though.

I told the boss I was leaving early Friday, and taking Monday off for some R&R up in the Kettle Valley. Taking my fishin pole to catch dinner after a hard day of lumberjacking windfall up at our "getting old house"
While sitting around the campfire roastin weenies n quaffing Baileys n coffee, I'll try to convince my wife that single ply toilet paper isnt half assed.

Two other Deli owners who belong to Delta Amaterur Radio Club are Sayulita101 and Deltadeli. A very informative weekend; thanks to members of the club for all their help and advice. Thanks Len.
