The vehicles were Nissan Patrols, and if it wasn't Eezi-Awns, it was something very similar. My understanding is that Eezi-Awn is only one of a number of different companies that make these. I bought this one because I actually found someone here in Canada who sells them, and that looks like a rooftop tent that is not a Canadian Tire tent stapled onto a hinged piece of plywood.

Thank goodness !! I knew you were not talking about his skydome but had to take the jab !! I just found it very funny after reading it a time or 2 . Everyone needs a laugh now and then.

I tried to buy a skydome but i found the guy who deals them over in victoria to be a complete flake !!
I called him and he said that he was busy and can i call him back in an hour then i called him back and he was at a restaurant eating and told me to call him back in another hour . Then He did not answer so i left a message and he never called me back !! I guess he did not need my business.... :-(

I will look into the eezi-awn one.

cheers isaac

So, after clambering atop a ladder to use this thing, I decided to make one more modification. The high-roof is just a bit too high, and the extra step ladder wasn't really as much help as I had hoped it would be.

As the Fates would have it, UsedVictoria had was just what I was looking for: a ladder rack. Long story, short: ladder rack mounted to utility trailer, modified, and then rooftop tent affixed to it. Check out my photo album for a couple of new pictures.

I like that method, I saw it on one of the roof top tent sites and thought it was a great idea. you can still use the van and leave the camp site setup and the trailer is multipurpose instead of having a utility trailer and a tent trailer. 2 thumbs up from me :)
