Different Idea On Ladder

Post by Fanny Bay Delica »

After almost two years of trying to get a decent ladder at a fair price (for basically well used units in generally poor condition), I had what I think is a better solution. I bought a collapsible ladder from Canadian Tire (for $179.00) that I think has the following advantages:

- Much stronger than any fitted Deli Ladder;
- Can be positioned where ever you need it for loading;
- Stores inside and doesn't take up much space at all;
- Stops the eventual problems with the rear door due to weight when the ladder is used regularly;
- Much more difficult for someone to rob from the rack; and
- Finally you have a sixteen foot ladder than can be used anywhere else!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D

What do you think?????

Mmmm, interesting solution. I bet it was a whole lot cheaper than a standard hatch mounted ladder too - how much$$?

Perfect solution!
Removed my ladder a few days ago. It was just too annoying that the rear door always was coming down. Specially when the weather hits certain degrees Celsius.

I like the idea. My comments:
(keep in mind I have extrication gear on rack, and use magmount antennas frequently)

Upsides:
can be used for other things
works on either side plus rear
doesn't get dirty
tailgate might stay open

Downsides
takes setup and space inside, so ...
can't just clamber up anytime, which I seem to do
awkward when you are stuck in mud and have to get up to rack for extraction gear

So, all in all, I'd say neutral. Of course right now I have Green1's Terzo on my tailgate, so I'm biased.

Can you fashion some hooks at the top so you can hook it over the top bar of your rack???
Keep your tip down and your line tight......happy fishn

I like this idea! i suppose it could be adapted to permantly stay under the roof rack and slide out and swivel down just like a loft ladder!

Hmmm off to trawl ebay! :-D

Nice find
