Re: I'm guilty
westfalia pop tops and hightop are different width/length/shape. I measured and checked (since I have both).
unfortunately, it's a no go unless you tear it apart which defeats the purpose of the monocoque design.

I have heard its best to hone your glassing skills making flares and spoilers!I'm already looking at making a fiberglass mold to use as a hightop camper for the L400.

Right on!

A one piece fiberglass top is easier to make depending on how rigid/resign/glass you use.
Friend of mine builds small boats and he's made a few diy camper tops that look nice. Similar to the adventurewagon westy's.

Re: I'm guilty
Hahahahahaha, no he isent tall, but to give you an idea, the Delica is on 35" tires. I think the body lift might come out of it once it gets here, but the suspension lift stays
this is the van in Japan, as its the only Delica I've seen with the upgrades to safely and easily tow a large boat, I knew it was for me. a Delica than can match what my landcruiser can tow , now thats the van I want for this dual vehicle family.

Re: I'm guilty
Pm sent,
If anyone is looking to share a container, I have enough space in mine for an L300 or an L400 delica, leaving Japan at the end of May, or the first week in June.
This van is also available. for may/june departure from Japan,

Re: I'm guilty
It seems the L400s lend themselves to lifting much better than the L300s. Is this because there is no panel-shaving required when installing larger tires?

Re: I'm guilty
they are just larger, larger wider components, easier to lift, more stable.more power, more speed,
they are just More of everything, and since they are the newest version, there are more options for them, both from Mits, and aftermarket.
