Pitman Arm for 91 Pajero
Hello all,
I am in need of a Pitman arm for a 91 Pajero 3.5 gas. I am unsure where I might be able to find this part as even the local Mitusbishi dealer won't help. If anyone has an suggestions please let me know.
Also is there a good place to get parts for Pajeros?

Lordco, Napa, Wakefield Sperling, Auto Parts Plus, Canadian Tire, etc....
Just ask for a pitman arm for a 1991 Mitsubishi Montero.
Don't mention Pajero or RHD.
They are the same vehicle. Part for part.

Cool part for part? I just thought there might be a slight difference with some parts between the LHD and RHD.
I have to say though that I love the Pajero but wished i had bought a Delica as it looks like an awesome vehicle for camping especially as I used to have a VW van years ago and a Delica would be an awesome upgrade from that with keeping all of the charm and practicality.

I haven't replaced everything in a Paj yet but if I run into any variances, I'll post here and on 4x4wire (the main Mitsu diesel/Pajero site)

The pitman and idler arms are the same as Montero's you can just flip them for RHD or LHD. Did both on my Pajero.

Re: Pitman Arm for 91 Pajero
Pay attention to the specific years. The 1991 JDM Pajero may end up using 1992 Montero parts... and there is a change-up mid-year for some things.
Check the parts very carefully before installation, the differences can be quite subtle.

Re: Pitman Arm for 91 Pajero
Are you POSITIVE that its a 3.5L gas engine in a 91? Mitsu didn't start putting these in until 93, and to retrofit one into a truck that had the 3.0L would be a lot of work, including a bodylift to clear the transmission. Check your firewall ID plate if you're not sure. The 3.0L-V6 is a "6G72". The 3.5L-V6 is a "6G74".mackhouse wrote:Hello all,

If your 91 is the second generation body shape (there were a few 91s sold in the genI in JDM land), then you should be safe with a pitman arm for a 92 Montero, as said above. Don't get one for a 91 Montero though, since they are different parts. Moog makes them, as well as lots of other aftermarket co's.

Yes is the 6G72 so it would be the 3.0 L. So you are correct and it is the second generation model style.

Sweet ride - I've always liked the 2-door model better than the 4-door. Hope you find what you're looking for.mackhouse wrote:Yes is the 6G72 so it would be the 3.0 L. So you are correct and it is the second generation model style.
