I have been offered 3 1000L totes.
They would need to be hot water pressure washed. They were not filled with toxic stuff. It is a dark honey coloured chemical called tire-fil A.
they are empty now.
If anyboody worked in a tire shop and can tell us what that stuff is,that would be great.
I don't think it will be too hard to clean out.
Anyway the price is right (FREE) and i figured if we are going to get this co-op thing off the ground it could be my contribution !!
Let me know if there is any interest.....
cheers isaac

This link might shed some light on tire fill and what it is and whether or not the residue is something that can be simply hosed out or not. You should find out if the tire fill was elastomer based or not before the hot water clean to avoid releasing potentially harmful chemicals into the environment.

What are the dimensions on these totes? I might be willing to set one up in my shed if I knew it wasn't too monstrously big. Of course, there would be a ferry-ride involved in that.

Paul,
They are about 4'x5' and 4' high. Check some of Adam's post on WVO, you'll see the pictures. But hey, they fit in the back of a Delica!

loki loki loki !!! when are you going to convert ?!!! lol's.
I want to know how that single tank kit works out.......
Anyway..... You can have them all if you want. Unless someone on this side of the water wants one or 2. You can have at least one... no problem !
pm me when you can come over. I will take dimensions because these have a built in pallet on the bottom. They look big.......i don't know maybe all totes do and i never paid attention before.
cheers.

Re: free 1000L totes
hehe, ya I was all set to do it yesterday but my wife was way to sick to take care of the kids, so I had to stay home :( it has been pushed to next Saturday now, not much is going to stand in the way this time! I will talk to my wife about a good time for use to go over to the mainland and I'll let you know, I will understand if you need to unload them fast or something though.fishslapper wrote:loki loki loki !!! when are you going to convert ?!!! lol's.![]()
