I'm planning on getting a Pajero soon, and I want to run biodiesel. Sometimes I'll be driving on long trips into the interior and to the states where biodiesel may not be available. Is it ok to switch back to petro-diesel on vacations and then go back to biodiesel when I get home? Will I have to change the fuel filter every time I do this?
I was considering adding a second (cheaper) fuel filter in-line ahead of the regular fuel filter to protect it through the fuel changes. Has anybody tried this? Can you think of any pros or cons to this idea?
Can I expect better, worse or the same mileage after I go bio?

No problem, it's still a similar fuel but depending on the % of bio you might need to upgrade your fuel lines (if using high % of bio ie. B100...)
Same filter is fine, back and forth is fine... Ideally you'd keep it at B20 and not much above B40 if you have stock fuel lines as anything higher and after some times your lines will go spongy and will need to be replaced.

you can go back and forth with no issues at all from bio to pump fuel, for your fuel lines it depends on the year of your vehicle, in asia they did the switch from rubber fuel lines to synthetic in 91 so anything from 91-92 I would change the lines just to make sure yours wasent getting some of the left over rubber lines. I run B100 in my 93 Landcruiser and have never had any issues, so if you get a 93 or a 94 Pajero, you shouldent have any issues.
