Vancouver: Meals on Wheels Drivers Needed

Post by mattias »

I just saw the Golbal News story about how regular meals on wheels drivers are unable to drive their regular routes because their cars are snowed in or they're getting stuck. They are looking for volunteers with 4WD to get through residential streets.

This might be a job for you and your Delica . . . I just called and left my information. Their contact info is at this link: http://www.globaltv.com/globaltv/bc/sto ... id=1106119

Maybe I'll see you out there!

I left a message with Jill. I think this is a good cause and is certainly worthwhile regarding Karma points. Charity is cool.

I turned up on Christmas day to where the lady on the phone told me to go and Meals On Wheels did not turn up. I called them on the number they gave me should I need to get directions and I got an answering machine that said they did not do stats.... I ended up helping to deliver turkey dinners to homeless shelters as although the streets were clear at that time the alley ways were not clear and that is where they needed to get the food. I followed up the next couple of days but still no reply. They have my number if they need me, in the meantime I did basically what I had intended to do so I was useful after all.
