Both tanks hold around 50L. As for the vent a bigger one would be useful for sure, even thought about putting one on the front tank as well for the simple reason that I have so much pressure that I can push the oil all the way to the front filter. So the issue is not that the oil can't make it to the front tank but that the tank fill too quickly and the vent can't keep up. That was the case on my initial fill up. Next time I'll close the shut off valve 1/2 way on the exit side of my pump to better control the flow.
I thought about ditching the filter on the aux. pump but since it was only rated at 70u I didn't think it would affect my set up as my oil is filtered down to 10u. If you think it can still be an issue than I'll just yank it off, it's not like I need it anyway, thanks! I'll seriously consider venting the front tank as well...

Kudos on the install David. You've throughly shamed me into attempting to clean mine up
I keep meaning to sort out the wiring properly and clean up the fuel lines, but there has been very little motivation to do it, as long as I can keep running on veg I get distracted with other tasks.

Personally I'd keep the prefilter just to protect you pump. I've already had to replace the 70u prefilter ($4 from Lordco) because I failed to clean up some plastic shavings in my tank properly. One thing to note is that putting the pump before the filter supposedly defeats the water block capabilities of the VegMax filter elements. I just moved my pump into the engine bay after my filter, but I noticed that it takes a lot longer to purge any air from your system with the pump this far away from the fuel tank. I think I might end up adding a 2nd pump back in the original spot just after the fuel tank.The Vormax (and the VegMax), like all Racor filters with water-blocking elements, are designed to be installed on the suction side of any 12V or mechanical lift pump - if there's any free water in your fuel, the pressure of the pump will create a water-fuel emulsion, which won't drop out into the drain bowls of the filters where you can drain it out. Also, if the free water is turned into an emulsion, it will not swell the Aquablock filter media of the R90T element or the water-blocking element of the VegMax. Instead, the water-fuel emulsion can get pushed through the filter media and end up in your fuel system post-Vormax.

I'll have to run the system for a while to see if there's any issue. Interesting point on the water block... Right now, aside from looking for excuse to drive around, I'm just happy to take a break from bloody knuckles and greasy fingernails! (in my title, there was a big emphasis on "Finally!")

I definitely do admire your patience. It certainly paid off in your final product, I was just so anxious to be burning WVO I jury rigged a system up 
I don't know how much I'd worry about the pump location. My oil is pretty water-free with the heating the I do, just thought I'd pass along the info in case it did matter.

adam, that is curious for sure. i dont think i can fit a pump anywhere between the filter and the IP. solution: ill have the raw power centrifuge in a few days and all my water worries will be gone!

I'm guessing it's between 50-60L for both tanks. I could have had the front tank deeper and add a few extra liters but since I use my van for off-roading I didn't want it too low. The back one could definitely be bigger but you'd loose the room for a spare tire.
I now love idling at a stop light and see nearby pedestrians looking around for where that smell of food is coming from!

I smile when I see the car which was dry-humping my bumper a moment ago start to drop back after they get a whiff o' my tailpipe (when I'm running veggie through the tank)! And I know it's the WVO because when I've not got any in the tank the car doesn't back off any.

Guess I should update this post seeing I've changed my initial tank system for a single aluminum tank.
Reason were that the breating/venting for the dual tanks wasn't that great and that the tanks started leaking (bad welds). It wasn't also the best system to refill on the road unless I ended up buying a 12V pump...
I've posted about this new tank in another post but seems appropriate to put it here as well.
So got Andrew to weld me a tank and also got him to modify the sight tube (handy when filling), the coolant entry/exit location for the heated tank, added a drain plug and the fuel pickup so that nothing was hanging low and also avoid having crap making it's way into my fuel lines.
After close to 20 000km using this system it's been working amazingly well and would recommend it to anyone.

hi there would u have the measurement of the big single tank in the back? im trying to collect bits for my conversion and i wonder how big a tank i can fit in there, sorry being lazy its all windy, wet and muddy outside at the moment
